1969-71
'69 - '71 MFI - Throttle Body Assemblies - one set re-bushed & re-machined, yellow zinc plating service, flow tested, ready to run.   $1,480.00

Shown here are 2.2S throttle bodies from a very original 1970S with just under 80,000 miles. The '69-'71 throttle bodies (2.0 and 2.2 liter) wore quickly compared to the later '72-'76 type. There are two main reasons for the increased wear:

        1.  The use of a rolled steel bushing in the 2.0 and 2.2 liter as compared to the later brass type bushing beginning in '72.

        2.  The tolerances between the steel bushings and the steel throttle shafts were loose when originally manufactured . They were never tight, even when new, and loosened up quickly.

It didn't take long for the throttle plate to groove the housing bore. Shown here after the overbore and newly machined throttle plate.
